- Relationships Film – Bulletin Two With relationships, the first consideration is that we all want to feel connected to the person we are in relationship with. Intimacy, closeness, love, kindness and sensitivity all come from this feeling of connection. To be connected means you sense that you are completely safe with the other person. You can trust them not to hurt you, and that they are there only for your wellbeing and happiness. This can only come about if you are not subconsciously pushing your partner away. Because there are only two choices: You are either inviting them in to your life, or you are rejecting them. Some people seem to be doing both of these options alternatively. Sometimes they want you, and at others they reject you. This is due to an imbalance in their psyche, and a lack of consciousness about how their personality works. We will deal with why this is, and what to do about it, in the film itself. Naturally, the ability to be able to fully connect to another person, is based on either your conditioning, or your own Self Development work. If you did not grow up with very loving parents, who were able to give you the right balance of attention and encouragement, then you definitely have Self Development work to do, to ensure any of your relationships are going to be connected. Why is this? Because with unloving parents, you never learnt to relate properly. How could you have? There was no one to teach you. All children do is to emulate their parents, or rebel against them. They have no other options. We all download our parent’s behaviours automatically. We want to be like them and we want to gain their approval and attention. We do this by imitating them. If they never learnt to express love, and perhaps never realised that this was a flaw in their nature, which required correction, they will automatically pass these behaviours on to you. You then will never be able to connect fully with another person. You may feel, in the beginning of a relationship, a strong attraction and lust, as well as a powerful need and insatiable desire to be with a person. But these will fade, unless you learn to love. Most people have come from families where the parents were unable to love, or had lost the ability over time. For the children of these types of people it is essential that they enter a proper Self Development path. Why? Because your life is a reflection of what you have stored within you. You project, from your memory banks, the series of patterns which were loaded in, onto all your relationships. What Self Development means is to become a fully conscious person, who has the ability to direct their mind, personality and energies, in any direction they wish. They are not ruled by the past. They have access to a whole range of hidden talents and potentials, and they learn how to connect to whomever they want to. In the film we will cover the whole story of what you need to know and do, in order to have access to these potentials, and become a conscious person who can relate fully and always experience love in their relationship. In our next bulletin, we will examine ways you can connect to others, as well as what you need to let go of, in order to immediately improve your present relationships. Films: The strange thing about a human being is that, unless they have special training, they are incapable of distinguishing between their daily reality and a dream. In a dream, a person is as totally involved, if not even more so, as they are in daily life. In a dream, their emotions run, their body reacts, they see, hear and feel, just as if they were awake. It is totally believable. In films, if they are made properly, it is exactly the same as if they were in a dream. This is why Hollywood is called a dream factory. A successful film must totally draw in the audience. So the skill is to be able to grip and hold the audiences attention so well, that they have no awareness that they are watching a film, but are completely absorbed. The first step to being able to do this is to cause the audience to identify with the lead character. They must feel empathy for them, which means, they think ‘they are like me’, or ‘ I have done that’, or ‘I could behave in that way’, and so on. The character can also be an unusual person, someone attractive, or more skilled or interesting than the average person. Someone the audience is fascinated with, or thinks they would like to have the same characteristics and abilities. It is exactly the same when you meet someone. If they are an unusual and amazing person, your attention is focused on them. At a party, if you have the choice of talking to a dull bore, or to an exciting adventurer, it is fairly obvious who you would choose, and who would hold your attention the most. The problem with many films today is that the producers fill them with dull bores, having uninteresting problems and then failing miserably, and wonder why no one wants to see the films about these types. So, when you are writing your film script, or novel, make sure that you have a great character, the type of person who you would be interested in meeting in real life. Someone proactive and inspiring. Then, the next step, is to face them with a deadly opponent, who is stronger than they are. In order to win against them, your character must fight the battle of their life. By the way, this can be any type of battle, not just an action superhero type of movie. It can be a drama about a relationship, or a comedy, or a thriller, or a sensitive mood piece about family life. The opponent could even be a disease, or some dreadful weather, or a natural disaster. Whatever it is, it is still necessary to ensure your characters are strong and well matched. Your lead character, or hero, needs to go through a series of challenges, in order to draw in the audience. Why? Because if you have written your characters correctly, the audience has identified with the hero and is aware of the opponents power. This grabs their attention and will hold it throughout the film. There are of course many layers to creating a great character, and many unavoidable rules you must follow. Next issue we will examine what is the best arena to put your characters and story in, so you can increase the enjoyment of your audience and ensure that their attention is drawn in even more. If you can develop the crucial skill of holding an audiences attention, then you are amongst the most talented film people in the world. It is a very small group, but fortunately it is only a matter of discovering the steps. These we will unfold with these bulletins.
