Michael Domeyko Rowland is Australia’s leading Personal Development author and presenter. His book, ‘Absolute Happiness’ is a national best seller (over 80,000 copies in Australia), and is published worldwide by Hay House of California. He lectures in the U.K. and Australia and has been invited to present his work in the U.S.A. this year.

His seminars and courses have been attended by over 215,000 people. 81,000 people in Australia have attended his main courses. Michael is also well known for his work with teenagers. He invites them to attend his courses for free and 8,200 have come in the last few years.

In May 1996 he was invited to consult with the Duchess of York (‘Fergie’), for three weeks in the U.K. and she credited him with giving her the means to turn her life around. She has since publicly endorsed his work. Michael, his wife Paulina and the Duchess of York, were joined for a day by Princess Diana.

He also occasionally joins overseas best selling authors on seminar tours around Australia. In October 1994, he toured the capital cities of the mainland with Louise Hay, Marianne Williamson and Wayne Dyer, who are the leaders in personal growth in America. This sell out tour was attended by 16,000 people. In Congress 95, he toured the same capital cities with American author Shakti Gawain. Her book ‘Creative Visualisation’ has sold over a million copies. He appeared, in March 1999, with Louise, Wayne, Deepak Chopra, Terah Collins and James Redfield, the author of ‘Celestine Prophecy’ in the Metaphysical Mastery Seminars.

Prior to commencing his seminar work eleven years ago, Michael was highly successful in the Australian film and television industry. He worked on a number of films and TV documentaries, dramas and feature films, starting as an assistant director in 1969, on Skippy the Kangaroo, Spyforce, with Jack Thompson, ‘Age of Consent’ with James Mason and Helen Mirren, and ‘Wake in Fright’. In 1985, he directed several episodes of the world wide smash hit television series ‘Return to Eden’. In 1986, he left the industry to begin his career researching mind and consciousness. In addition to presenting courses, he returns to feature film writing and directing in 2005, dealing with the subjects he covers in his seminars, converting them into a fictional setting.

Since his youth, Michael has also studied a number of different meditation and mind exploration methods in the U.K. Australia, India and the U.S.A. He was trained as an advanced teacher of meditation in the school of Paramahamsa Muktananda of India, one of this century’s greatest teachers. In 1979 he was appointed a director of Muktananda’s school in Sydney, where he taught on a voluntary basis for three years.

In 1997 he toured England, the Amazon jungle, and the U.S.A. interviewing twenty of the top psychiatrists, psychologists, physicists and biologists for a documentary video series on the mind and consciousness, which he is presenting and directing. The first episode has already been released. This year he has also directed, and presents, another video series on personality and relationships, again interviewing the leading authorities from the U.S.A. in the field.

Michael lives with his wife, Paulina Domeyko, and their son and daughter. Michael has taken his wife’s name into his own.
